Last day of School

 

8th grade graduation 2024

 Connor decided to run for president because it “sounded like a cool title”— he was elected student body president of wheeler middle school and worked hard this year to fulfill his presidential duties. Announcements, awards assemblies and helping with spirit week and dances. He said it was fun to hang out with friends and Be involved with the school events.

His final act as president involved giving a speech at graduation. It was fun to help him prepare and practice.

As soon as Mr. McAdams said I was going out to some of the as soon as the hula girls were done and so I thought they were done like multiple times in the music was going soft but then again they keep dancing and I kept thinking . “Do I go up closer to the podium Soon as they’re done?” And the Mr. McAdams kind of introduces me and was like I don’t know how long it was, but I walked up the side of the podium place and saw that the whole auditorium was packed. So I Just read my script a few times I looked up I dont know how much — I was looking at my speech.. but my legs were shaking the whole time .”

Bad luck Brielle

Well we had a little excitement tonight  —

Brielle was doing double bounce with a bunch of friends and her brothers  on the trampoline and was launched  forward and landed weird --it all happened so fast and was bad enough that right away her arm looked willy wonka- and the broken bone bent and broke the skin and a little blood stream was squirting out and she was screaming. I was out there watching the kids playing and saw the whole thing. The kids all stopped and their mouths were wide open. Brielle was just on her knees screaming so high and at the top of her lungs we were able to get her off of the trampoline and set her down inside of the van so we could take her to the emergency room. Connor quickly ran in the house and grab a towel to put around her arm. To call Benjamin who was an army he wasn’t answering his phone until we did the find my phone alert and he quickly hurried home so we could go down to the ER. There was some Panic and shock and trauma for all the teens who were out there 😬😬 we quickly loaded up and went down to the Kapiolani ER where she had just been a month ago for her other broken wrist!! 

Miraculously the bones had all lined back up by the time we got to the ER. After the follow up appointment today doctor said no surgery. She is being brave but she was so sad and hurting last night-- and bummed out about summer…
