We were so happy to have a few days up in the mountains rains with our Platt family— cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandpa and grandma. We heard there was going to be rain predicted for this weekend, and I don’t think that we were expecting such torrential downpours each day!
The mud rivers that would run through camp were incredible!! Then the sun would come out and kids would run around and Cannon really worked on keeping the fire go and even during the rain with his cousin Jacob! They worked at chopping branches all day- with just a break for breakfast lunch and dinner. There was only a few times they had a flesh wound and needed a bandaid from the knifes and hatchets 😉
I am especially thankful there was an extra camper trailer for us to sleep in. Most years we are not so lucky…

One of the days Joseph and Ashley Braden and Brecon and me went up to Whitney Reservoir for some fishing and paddle boarding. I decided with my time that I would walk around the entire body of water, but I didn’t start my tracker until it wasn’t quite the exact measurement that I wanted, but I’m thinking I went about 3 1/2 or 4 miles around that lake picking up garbage and looking at the beautiful wildflowers
Necha and I also took little kid kayaks and paddled up a river for as far as we could go. It was such a beautiful day. The sun was out and the water was really refreshing and calm. There was a couple of times we would have to go around Beaver Dam or Beaver blockers put on the way down river we just would fly right over them when we made it back to the truck. It was just in time there was some big storm clouds rolling in and another. One of the torrential downpours hit right after we got back to camp perfect timing.
