Olympics, Wrestling, and Lacrosse

OLYMPICS- On a beautiful Saturday morning we decided to bring the family to the Special Olympics that were being held right here on West Point. A few family friends were also there so we could cheer them on during their different events. Verada Ellett is in the yellow shirt. She was also in Cael's 4th grade class with Mrs. Bodiford. She is very sweet and fun to talk to. During the events we saw, she won 4th in the shot put and then 1st in her 200 meter dash. We cheered and let the kids run around on the field playing tackle. Mila (in green sweatshirt) and Veradan thought it was really crazy, but they both jumped right in there and were tackling the boys.

WRESTLING- Brecon and Cael were both signed up to be in the West Point Wrestling Club. Connor also insisted and would be the first one ready to go every night there was practice. He even got a partner to practice with named Logan. They were about the same size and had the best take-down with each other. On this night, each of the boys were able to have a full match against another their same size. Connor wrestled hard and took down Logan lots of times. Brecon had a tough match against an older boy, but he fought hard. Cael also had a tough match against a kid that was visiting for the night. After a few tears and lots of sweat and a slam to the mat, the match was over. Each boy got a neat coin from the athletic director for all their hard work.
LACROSSE- Cael has also be going to lacrosse practices every Tuesday and Thursday night this spring, and there have been a couple of games as well. He is the youngest they allow to sign up and practice, but he does really well at it. We drop him off with all of his gear and his bike that  he rides home when he is done. I think he has a great time, even if we didn't always remember to take him to practices all of the time.

BRIELLE is TWO!

This little lady has been such a joy to have in our family. We love her spunky, sassy, little girl! To celebrate this very important milestone we went to the doctor for Brielle's 2-year check-up. That doesn't happen very often were I am actually on schedule with those type of appointments, so it was nice to have everyone in the office wish my little girl a "happy birthday" and give her stickers and a book.
We had lemon cake and cream for Brielle's birthday treat. Connor is asleep on the couch (again). It was so fun to watch Brielle enjoy all the attention and singing from her two older brothers. They really adore her so much.
As a little prank, Cael and I asked Brecon to smell his cake and we surprised him with some cake in the face. He actually didn't think it was very funny and was quite mad at Cael. When I told Brecon I was the one who pushed him into his cake I felt awful. Well, Cael got Brecon to laugh again when he smashed cake in my face. There was plenty of cake to clean up off of the floor when our party was over.
Brielle is very quick with her body! Because she is always climbing and chasing after her brothers she is fast and strong. I love when she gets on the swings while riding on her belly and says "yee-hee"-- it's like her sound when she is having fun going back and forth.
We had a get a picture of Connor with his sister. This time the cake was enjoyed at our friends Tiffany and Steven Elgan. They moved to Korea and we were helping them eat all the food they had in their refrigerator. This delicious chocolate cake looks like a great prop for a birthday girl.
One of Brielle's favorite friends is Anna Elgan. These two are just as cute as can be while playing with one another. Anna was spending some time at our house while Tiffany was getting everything all packed and cleaned up at her house. At church Brielle would even go and sit with the Elgan family, sometimes not always appreciated by Anna because Brielle loved to sit on her Momma's lap.
It is just so fun to have Brielle! She has changed the whole dynamic in our home and I love it. I love her! She is a lady, she loves pink, dresses, and anything girly. She holds babies, puts them to bed, and carries them around. Just the other day she told me to "shhh-- baby sleeping" and I had to leave the room that I was in for her to continue to play. She is very fun to be around and we all love her!
