Olympics, Wrestling, and Lacrosse

OLYMPICS- On a beautiful Saturday morning we decided to bring the family to the Special Olympics that were being held right here on West Point. A few family friends were also there so we could cheer them on during their different events. Verada Ellett is in the yellow shirt. She was also in Cael's 4th grade class with Mrs. Bodiford. She is very sweet and fun to talk to. During the events we saw, she won 4th in the shot put and then 1st in her 200 meter dash. We cheered and let the kids run around on the field playing tackle. Mila (in green sweatshirt) and Veradan thought it was really crazy, but they both jumped right in there and were tackling the boys.

WRESTLING- Brecon and Cael were both signed up to be in the West Point Wrestling Club. Connor also insisted and would be the first one ready to go every night there was practice. He even got a partner to practice with named Logan. They were about the same size and had the best take-down with each other. On this night, each of the boys were able to have a full match against another their same size. Connor wrestled hard and took down Logan lots of times. Brecon had a tough match against an older boy, but he fought hard. Cael also had a tough match against a kid that was visiting for the night. After a few tears and lots of sweat and a slam to the mat, the match was over. Each boy got a neat coin from the athletic director for all their hard work.
LACROSSE- Cael has also be going to lacrosse practices every Tuesday and Thursday night this spring, and there have been a couple of games as well. He is the youngest they allow to sign up and practice, but he does really well at it. We drop him off with all of his gear and his bike that  he rides home when he is done. I think he has a great time, even if we didn't always remember to take him to practices all of the time.
