Running Club- Brecon

At school, the PE coach puts together a group of runners that compete in a race against the other local schools. They practice during recess, so it makes it easy to let him be part of this team. Another great thing was that this event was only a short bicycle ride away from our house during the day, so I loaded up Cannon and we went to support our favorite runner!
Brecon with his buddies- Kayden Steimle and Sam Wiggins. They are pretty pumped up to run in their race!

Here is the group of boys before the start of their race. Every school starts the race at the same time, and the score is based on the place that they finish which makes the scoring similar to cross country races where the lowest score for the team wins. I am not sure what place these boys finished, but we always laughed because as soon as the race whistle blew, they went sprinting down the field as fast as they could go! After the first 50 yards they start slowing down because they are all out of gas! It's hard to run your own race and not be caught up in the crowd, even though I specifically told Brecon to set a good pace and warned him, he still sprinted and ended up really slowing down! Oh well, it was still fun to watch him run his best.

I'm always happy when we can get a picture of us all together! I just love when other parents offer to capture this kind of picture for me.

But of course, There is the "selfie" shot and everybody is happy! Overall, it is just fun to get out there and to see Brecon working hard and doing his best! I sure love that kid!
