Let your light so shine!

Brielle gave a talk in church

Good Morning brothers and sisters and aloha —-(pause)

my name is Brielle Platt and I was asked to give a talk today.  for those who don't know, my oldest brother Cael recently got home from his mission. I was so excited to see him when he got off the airplane I ran and gave him the first hug. He has been a really good example to me and the rest of my siblings by going on a mission and serving the lord and people in Cambodia.

In the scriptures we read in Matt 5 verse :16 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

My brother has been been letting his light shine as a missionary and we have had heard from many of the people in his mission about the good things he did. He was helping to light the path so that others could see the way back to Heavenly Father. So I was thinking about Some ways we can let our light shine even if we don’t have a missionary tag. First thing we could be to smile at someone or open a door for another person. These are some simple acts to let your light shine in the world.  I have a friend that has been a really good example to me. She is always having a good attitude and always being nice which is having an impact on me to be nice and have a good attitude as well. When I broke my arm she visited me and brought me some of my favorite treats to help me feel better. She also wrote me a really nice note where she told me all the good things she likes about me. I am so lucky to have such a good friend. So brothers and sisters I just want to challenge you to do the simple things and let your light shine— smile at someone, open a door, or write a note to make someone’s day  just a little bit better. By doing this we will be showing Our love to Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ

I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
