Mr. and Mrs. Platt,
I wanted to let you know that as we were going over blend words today,Brecon decided to be a comedian. For the dr blend, he came up with drunk. I would have overlooked that, since it is definitely a blend word. But the
next blend that we discussed was "fr", and he came up with "fart".
Not onlydid it not have a blend, I could tell that he was just trying to be silly.
We talked about this, and I told him that I was going to tell you. He does not usually display this kind of behavior, and is on the quieter side. At least he was participating, if we look at the cup half full. :)
With blends, I see him doing something that a few other second grade
students do. They pronounce the blends as if there is a vowel in the middle.
For instance, for "fr", they say "fer" or for "bl" they say "bull". I noticed this as Brecon was working through blends.
Thank you for your time and patience,
Mrs. U.
