Baby Shower

I had a great time tonight eating some yummy Thai food and enjoying my dear friends before opening little baby girl presents. I was spoiled by them all and we cannot wait to meet this little girl very soon.
My good friend Jody made these cute burp cloths with her amazing machine. It reads:
"MADE IN GERMANY... With American Parts" I about die laughing every time!

Katie and I are due about 5 days apart. She is completely adorable and is going to be a great mommy to her first baby girl!
Back row: Missy, Jody, Angie, LaDawn, Amber, Tammy, Dee, Amy, CaeDee
Front: Me, Cecy, Katie, Rachelle, Christina,
Down in front: Tera and Lydia
I love these ladies!
They seriously are the best! Thanks again for the wonderful evening and great time!

WELCOME HOME!

The clinic hosted a Welcome Home CPT PLATT bowling night and we had a great time watching our boys jump right in there and take turns on the bowling lanes. Ben and I even joined a group for a round, which started off pretty good for me with 3 strikes in a row... but sadly it was all down hill from there. I barely lost overall, but I blame that on the "imbalance" I am experiencing lately :)

AND.. what happens when Daddy brings his three boys into the store to pay for gas? Clean up on register 4... that's what! I initially didn't go into the shop, but instead was waiting in the van for my family to get back. However, when I noticed something that looked a little weird I knew I needed to bring my camera and capture the moment forever.
Also to celebrate Ben's welcome home/birthday his mom painted us this beautiful picture of the Bountiful Temple in oil. It really is stunning and we are so excited to have more beautiful art in our home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I LOVE IT!! Ben is acting so surprised and excited for his birthday present!
In keeping with birthday tradition, we had our neighbors over for cake and icecream to celebrate a milestone in our dear husband/father Bens life... turning the young age of 35! He was very surprised to open the gift he had bought for himself and after taking it out on it's maiden flight, quickly realized that some of the batteries were not adequate and the helicopter came crashing down hitting the hard pavement mulitple times. This broke the "landing gear" and that was that. The rest of the machine still works, but we will all remember that amazing first flight on that very chilly March night.

DADDY IS HOME!

FIRST of all-- I can finally breathe! It really has felt like I have been holding my breath while Ben was away. Secondly, as I am typing this it has been two weeks since Ben got home from Afghanistan. It was quite an experience to have him gone for 7 months, a rollercoaster of emotions, learning to work together as a "long distance" family, and holding it all together while being pregnant the entire time... I'm not going to lie, it wasn't easy or fun, but also at the same time life just kept on going by and we couldn't press pause just because Dad was away. The boys were such troopers, there were good days and not-so-good days, and on some nights when I was WAY too nauseous and exhausted to tuck them into bed, they were able to take care of one another. We had a routine during the week that kept us going, and also knowing ahead of time what to make for dinner was a huge burden that I usually didn't worry about ( and the boys always ate whatever was on the menu ) We worked together the best that we could, but can I just say how wonderful it is to have Ben home?!?

While the reunion didn't go exactly as I imagined it would (Connor asleep, Me not quite ready, camera shots a little too late, video not working at all, etc)  we are just so excited to have our WHOLE family together again!
